Idyllic Outdoor Spaces

Though much of our work typically revolves around buildings and structures, this project also encompassed the entirety of the sprawling landscape behind the home. With several outdoor spaces and “rooms” (areas), it’s important that they all connect well and intertwine with the environment, from the pool and outdoor kitchen, to the various decks, to the pond and portico, and ultimately the overall scenery. We took great care to capture it all, adding multi-levels of decking creating multiple focal points to take in the views and enjoy the beautiful vistas from every angle. The ground level walk-out is the ideal set up for the adjacent outdoor kitchen, nestled in and covered for entertaining come rain or shine, and leading right to the pool for the ultimate summer staycation.

The large pond presented a special opportunity to be a main feature of the property. Stagnant for an extended period of time presented challenges, so the logical solution was to create moving water. We introduced pumps, and pulled water from the pond up to the house and distributed it to a creative water feature, functioning as a stream going through the rocks and path. The latest addition is a pergola along the pond’s edge to enjoy a summer evening, plus a small dock ready for a canoe or kayak!
