It’s Nature’s Way

This client came to us with an outdated kitchen and a very specific vision. As longtime local landscape architects with a love of the outdoors, it was very important to them to bring elements inspired by nature into the kitchen. They were looking to have a rustic Colorado feel, with warm tones, and a comfortable welcoming vibe. With that blueprint in mind, we took the existing space that no longer met their needs, and transformed it into what has become the focal point of their home. Renovations don’t always require major construction changes in order to create a smart plan, as was the case here, allowing us to work with the existing footprint. The use of natural stone and slate for the floor grounds the center island while nature-inspired light fixtures add to the overall aesthetic. As kitchens are often the social center of the home, the addition of a wet bar was just right for alongside the dining area. Outside of the working part of the kitchen, it also bridges the living room to the kitchen. Now this large family has a beautiful new space that works perfectly to meet their needs, whether on the daily, or entertaining friends and family for a larger gathering.
