The biggest reorganization of space occurred in the lower level, encompassing a home office, and multiple play areas and chill spaces including a home theater, full bar area with seating, and a lounge area. A low ceiling section was the perfect spot for the bar in a cozy corner, right in the mix with everything else. The layout of the home allowed for a full-size staircase from the main floor to the lower level, and then a ground level walk out. As the overall project also included the addition of a pool, it was important to include a changing room/bathroom, which opened up the lifestyle usage from outdoors to indoors. There had been an underutilized space further back in the lower level that became the logical place for a home theater. We even reorganized the hallway and created a lobby area complete with banquette seating, a popcorn machine, and even a place for movie posters! All in all, this lower level is an oasis — ready for playtime or work time.
