Stunning Focal Points
It’s not uncommon to think an addition is needed in order to achieve a dream kitchen. But that’s not always the case. The kitchen in this 1990s home was very compartmentalized and fairly small. Along with a large separate dining room that was only minimally used, the combined spaces weren’t compatible with today’s lifestyles. This was the ideal situation for looking inside the existing footprint to make changes before looking outward with an addition, something that can be a pleasant surprise to homeowners. For this particular project, we removed multiple interior partitions and reorganized the kitchen, creating a space for a large walk-in pantry located behind the range. This also gave us an opportunity to incorporate interesting design elements including arch top pocketing doors that flanked the range. This allowed for good circulation in and around the pantry, while also giving a unique and stunning focal point in the design.
