The Project of Their Dreams

This property represents one of our biggest projects to date. Our clients were embarking on the project of their dreams and found us through a referral. We connected immediately and began strategizing. Because they were living elsewhere at the time, the entire project could be taken on at once. We completely gutted the interior and transformed the entire home in a way that shaped it for the current times and uses, while also keeping existing elements that made sense, such as the window from the kitchen to the dining room for a view to the backyard.

Situated on a beautiful Bucks County vista, the original home sat vacant for close to five years before being purchased by our client, setting up the ideal canvas and framework for an entire home renovation. The only original part was the framing and the foundation; everything else was replaced in its entirety down to every detail, including a Juliet balcony and a hidden craft room.

Sometimes great stories emerge during projects. While searching for the perfect beams for the ceiling of the great room, we were simultaneously renovating a family member’s barn just a few miles away. Upon discovering four beams buried in their barn, one of our great Gemmi crew members realized the beams would be the perfect size and dimensions we needed. They had been sitting in that barn for over 60 years. With a good power washing and nylon brushing emerged the most ideal timbers for the great room, not only providing the solution for what to use, but even more meaningful, giving back a piece of priceless family history.

This project also gave us the opportunity to implement smart-home technology; an aspect of home renovation that is gaining in popularity. Featured throughout the home, it is remotely accessible from a phone, including fully automated blinds, music, lights, heating, cooling, and advanced home security.

All in all, renovations included the kitchen, entire first floor and second floor, the lower level including a home theater, and culminating with the spectacular outdoor living oasis, complete with pool, outdoor kitchen, gorgeous landscaping, and a pergola overlooking a large pond. Through careful planning, and working with our amazing team of trade partners and design consultants, the “NEW” home emerged that you’re seeing now.
